Red Dead Redemption is being ported to PS4 and Nintendo Switch (no remaster?)

Source: Wallpaper Abyss

According to Rockstar Games, an official trailer for Red Dead Redemption that was rumored to be a remaster was revealed. However, fans were quick to criticize for the game being just a port with "bug fixes."

NOT A Remaster

The trailer itself just shows various gameplay segments. It's clear that it's not a full remaster with an updated engine and the works. Rockstar Games does state that this port will fix various bugs. Although, a port can bring new bugs and problems of it's own.

Still No Steam Version

This port to the PS4 and Switch comes at a random time as the game is still delisted on Steam. It is thankfully still available on Xbox thanks to backwards compatibility. It seems like Rockstar Games are just doing the bare minimum. Red Dead Redemption was never available to play on Steam. This seems like a wasted opportunity to bring the first game to the PC community as they already have the sequel.

The "new" Red Dead Redemption port will be available on PS4 and Nintendo Switch on August 17th.
