We will never forget what you took from us Respawn

Titanfall 2 has been under threat of DDOS attacks since 2019. A specific group of hackers were attacking Apex Legends servers at first. When Respawn swooped into help Apex, the hackers picked up on the older, less supported game, Titanfall 2. Ever since then, the game has never been the same as support from Respawn Entertainment slipped further and further away.

The attacks were just a nail in the coffin for the death of the series. The last official major update for the game was at the end of 2017 with the release of Operation Endeavor. Since then, it's been radio silence before the attacks. When the ddosing was brought to the attention of Respawn they shared a tweet stating "Help is on the way." Is it though? That was two years ago now. Unfortunately whatever Titanfall community there might have been, we've long since dispersed and moved onto other games. While some chose to stay and hold onto an already dead franchise that was abandoned for the sake of popularity (Apex Legends).

I'm going to be biased here and state right away that I do not like Apex Legends. I never really have as I've just preferred to play Titanfall (when I was able too). The fact is, Apex just isn't Titanfall and that's my gripe about it. I view it differently from any other Battle Royale because, of the company that came before it. According to different sources, the team that had originally formed respawn (those who left Infinity Ward) have all since left the company. Some even returned to Infinity Ward. All of this negativity on the brand has piled up over the years and I aim to leave my Titanfall days behind me as I find other franchises to enjoy.

While Respawn may have abandoned us, not all hope is lost (at least for PC players). Behold, the Northstar client. This is a fan-made client where PC players can download and find games hosted on private servers. The servers are protected and run by those who developed the client. So, we don't have to rely on Respawn. It's a free download so I recommend giving it a shot if you have trouble loading or being booted off of servers on the PC side.
