The best mods to download for Amnesia: The Bunker

Source: Frictional Games

Shortly after it's release, Amnesia The Bunker was blessed with mod tools. The Steam community has seen some slow progress in publishing any notable mods. Most of them have been infinite generator fuel and getting rid of the monster. However, there are some memorable mods that actually change a few dynamics of the game and provide players with brand new experiences and encounters.

Not-So-Saferoom

This seems like a simple mod but is actually pretty intuitive. It does exactly what you'd expect, allowing the monster to follow you into the safe room. In the base game, the monster only really comes out at certain triggers. He rarely follows you down corridors or into rooms (outside of scripted sequences). Even if he did, if you were close enough, running back to your save game lamp and generator is the safest bet as the monster can't ever enter that room at any point in the game. This simple mod gets rid of that mechanic right off of the start and provides an actual challenge in dealing with the monster.

HungryRats!

This mod uses the small influence of the rat mechanic in the game and dials it up to 11. In this mod, the rats are more aggressive and dangerous. The rats will follow you if there is food in your inventory and are more in how far they can detect the player. They can also be lured away and even angered. This is another simple mod that adds more subtle danger to the games overall level design.

Reduced Motion

This mod is an essential accessibility mod that honestly should have been in the game on launch. As the name implies, it reduces the players head motion and certain FOV effects when entering and exiting the inventory. It serves as a small taste of other proposed accessibility features that will eventually release. (As stated by the mod publisher)
