This list is is no particular order as I tried to grab the most recognizable/consistent appearances. As a result, some actors that you may recognize in COD's 20 year run may not be on this list.

Even so, each actor/actress here played a tremendous part in bringing more flare to the stories that were told. It remains unclear if any other big name actors will continue to lend their voice to future COD characters. Some of the characters have essentially been killed off in their respective story, such as the COD Zombies characters (Tank Dempsey, Takeo Masaki, Nikolai Belinski). Even then, returning characters have also been given different voice actors (Alex Mason and Frank Woods) while still being the same characters.

My guess is, Activision will continue to shell out lifeless operators that have no meaningful impact on any story told within the game. I can't imagine any noteworthy roles for Hollywood actors to play in if not the campaign. Even if some actors are introduced as a new "operator," the celebrity guests could never have the meaningful impact on the story as they had voicing distinct characters. The perfect example of this is the inclusion of the celebrities, Snoop Dog, Nicki Minaj, and 21 Savage. While they all provide their voice for the "character," there is no narrative consequence to them. They are just another visual cosmetic for the consumer to purchase.

The perfect example of a celebrity providing narrative consequence was Gary Oldman as Victor Reznov. The character was vital in the storytelling of COD World at War and Black Ops 1. Gary Oldman's work as Reznov has made his character into one of the most popular and recognizable Call of Duty characters of all time.

"Mason listen to me. We are running out of time my friend...Can you trust your leaders to destroy it... or you think they will use it? The flag may be different but the methods are the same. They will use you, as they used me...You must decide... decide what do you think is worth fighting for... Dragovich... Kravchenko... Steiner... These... 'men' ... must die."

-Victor Reznov
