Official reveal of the Mortal Kombat 1 Kombat Pack roster

Source: Xfire

In May of this year it was rumored that the official MK1 kombat pack will feature three guest characters and three MK characters. The returning characters are a welcoming return even if some have argued some of them have should have been in the game on launch. The guest characters though are another story entirely as some are ecstatic and some people are disappointed with the mix of two of the specific guests.

Kombat Pack 1 Characters

  • Quan Chi

  • Ermac

  • Takeda

  • Omni-Man

  • Peacemaker

  • Homelander

Guest Characters

Starting off with the guest characters, most fans would agree that the inclusion of these "anti-heroes" fit nicely in the MK universe. It's also safe to assume that they would be voiced by their original performance both in live-action and animated tv show. That is, JK Simmons as Omni Man, John Cena as Peacemaker, and Anthon Starr as Homelander. This is pretty much a given for both Peacemaker and Homelander as they look identical to their live action counter parts. (It would be weird to hear another voice coming out of John Cena). The inclusion of these guests have not come without their share of criticism already. People seem to be a little disappointed that there are two Superman clones in one pack. That is, Homelander and Omni-Man are essentially the same character. Other than that, people seem to be excited about the inclusion of these specific characters.

Returning MK Characters

The general conscientious is obviously excitement for the returning characters. A notable example is Tekeda as he has a niche following. His debut appearance was in MKX and he quickly developed a "classic" status as the rest of the ninjas. It'll be interesting to see how he plays given his most debut mechanics in MKX. Quan Chi is also a returning character who has been in many Mk games all the way back to MK4 and Mythologies. Ermac has quite the underwhelming response even though he is a fan-favorite from long-time fans to newcomers. The biggest and most immediate upset seems to be his appearance as he takes on more of a mummy instead of a ninja. This would be an easy fix though as skins are guarantied the return. The other upset is that there are those who would argue that he should have been in the game from the start.

The only signs of a release date for this Kombat Pack is that Homelander is available Spring 2024 as stated at the end of the trailer.
