Not even Steam can save Overwatch 2

Source: Wallpaper Mob

Overwatch 2 was released to Steam on August 10th. This follows pretty much every game on the Blizzard client moving over to Steam thanks to a low player base on the Blizzard platform. However, Overwatch 2 was instantly bumbarded with mostly negative reviews. This come to no surprise as the game was destined to fail ever since they announced the "sequel."

Why People Hate Overwatch 2

A large amount of Overwatch's own player base has turned against Blizzard thanks to the announced sequel. The sequel brought very little changes to the core multiplayer mechanics of the original game. Even the main draw of the "free-to-play" PVE campaign was (mostly) scrapped last minute and they put a $40 dollar price tag on a few missions. Not to mention, only three of those missions are available to play.

Not to mention, the initial hassle of transferring all of your skins and ranks you earned from the previous game was horrible. Some players had even reported (at the time) they haven't received their ranks and skins for weeks after launch.

Same Game, Same Problems

At the end of the day, Overwatch 2 is still the same mess that it was when they launched the sequel. With monotonous changes to core mechanics of heroes, the game is worse off than it was when it launched back in 2016.

Relaunching it to Steam isn't going to change that.
