Small look at Gut Feeling Update (1.10.1)
Dying Light 2 got a major update on Thursday enhancing the zombie slaying experience! This update released Thursday, April 20th and includes tons of improvements and changes to specifically the combat. Full patch notes here.
Combat Improvements (not full patch notes):
More dismemberment
New visualization of damaging enemies (Visible eyeballs, broken ribs etc.)
Ability to rip out chunks of flesh from zombies
New hit detection code for zombies and enemies
"Spill the beans" (guts will be able to spill out onto the ground)
This is just a small taste of improvements and visualizations done with the game. There are other such as fixing memory leaks, and UI improvements.
The game is finally, a year after it's release, starting to fell like the first Dying Light. Many problems that faced this game on launch weren't just in the technical side. The very core of the game felt slow and clunky compared to the first game. Many players were turned off by this and we saw a dip in the player count after the honeymoon period of it's debut release.
Now hopefully, this update brings players back as it finally feels like a Dying Light game. One that is brutal and gruesome and where you feel like your actually killing zombies.
