Dead Island 2 is here!

Dead Island 2 is the sequel to the original Dead Island that released in 2011. The sequel, Dead Island 2 is set to release today!

This is the official sequel to the Hawaiian shirt-wearing zombie game that has had multiple spinoffs since. Those being Dead Island Riptide and Escape Dead Island, don't worry though, you won't need to play these games as they tell self-contained stories. While, I have no insight on the story in-depth, it should play very similarly to the original as the story always takes a backseat to the gameplay in the series.

The game opens cinematically and allows you to choose a variety of people that have special skills, similar to class systems.

Characters:

Amy:

- Proficient in stamina

- Regains stamina when hitting a zombie with a weapon throw.

- Gains minor damage boost when attacking isolated zombies.

Jacob:

- Proficient in peak health

- Gets a stackable minor damage boost when attacking in quick succession.

- When stamina is low he gains a moderate critical damage boost and regens stamina.

Bruno:

- Proficient in critical damage

- Moderate damage boost when attacking zombies from behind.

- Boost to agility and heavy attack charges when you block or dodge.

Carla:

- Proficient in resilience

- Minor damage boost when close to multiple zombies.

- Moderate toughness boost when health is critical.

Dani:

- Proficient in stamina

- Heavy attacks trigger a forceful explosion on impact.

- Regains health when slaying zombies in quick succession.

Ryan:

- Proficient in toughness

- Gets moderate force boost when blocking or dodging.

- Regains health each time a zombie is knocked down.

Each character offers different traits that are stats that are unique to a specific playstyle. Fortunately over the course of the game you can increase stats through levels with allow you to essentially max out all stats by the end of the game. However, it's important to choose wisely as in the beginning of the game you have base level stats and are forced to play with the playstyle your character has. For example, Ryan is a big and heavy character, he moves slow but can deal a ton of damage. He won't be useful for agile gameplay and throwables.
