A year ago, Microsoft officially set out to acquire Activision Blizzard. Over the past year they had to jump through many hoops to get to the legal standpoint they are today. Although there are still some countries and regulators to deal with, it's almost inevitable for the acquisition to go through.
Many have already discussed the potential of the Call Of Duty franchise under this new leadership. However, instead of mentioning Ips, I want to bring up all of the big Publishers and their potential franchises.
Although the acquisition of these publishers is confirmed to come with the deal, the actual IPs I mention and the prospect of funding their franchises is not certain as things may change as the deal progresses.
Publishers
Treyarch
Raven Software
High Moon Studios
Beenox
Sledgehammer Games
Infinity Ward
Demonware
Toys For Bob
Activision Shanghai
Solid State Studios
Digital Legends
Notable publishers:
High Moon Studios- Most notable for they recent work on Black Ops 4 and recent iterations of Warzone and Modern Warfare. However, they still worked on other projects such as Transformers War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron as main developers.
Beenox- They have a track record of developing spin-offs and ports of franchises such as Crash Bandicoot Team Racing and multiple Spider-man games. (Shattered Dimensions, The Amazing Spider-man 1/2 and Spider-man Edge of Time).
Toys For Bob- Their most notable releases have been Crash Bandiccot 4 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. They have shifted their focus on helping the development of Warzone as a support studio.
Digital Legends- Digital Legends develops mobile games such as Afterpulse and Respawnables Heroes. They are most likely going to focus most of their time on reiterating COD's further venture into the mobile market.
